WattMatch: SELLER TERMS AND CONDITIONS Last Updated: October 2026 WHEN A BUYER RESERVES YOUR BIKE The buyer's payment is a Refundable Inspection Reservation. It does not constitute a contract of sale. The buyer inspects the bike, then commits to buy. Both parties must confirm before the collection PIN appears. CANCELLING A RESERVATION You can cancel the sale yourself before the buyer commits. The buyer receives a full refund and any listing fee you paid is not refunded. If the buyer attended, inspected and declined the bike, confirm this when cancelling. A cancelled bike is re-listed only when the refund settles. If 48 hours pass from settled payment without a buyer message or the buyer opening the commitment step, you can send a final 24-hour warning. The bike stays reserved and the buyer can still collect or cancel. If there is still no response, you can cancel the reservation under this no-response procedure. If the buyer does not turn up to the inspection you arranged, you can cancel and report the no-show. OFFERS Offers are available only if you enable them: at most two per buyer per listing, 48 hours for you to respond, and no counter-offers. An accepted price lasts 24 hours for that buyer, at the lower of that price and the current asking price. GETTING PAID Payouts are held for 72 hours after handover and are subject to any claim under WattMatch Buyer Protection, which buyers can raise within 48 hours from collection. An open claim pauses payout. LISTING REVIEW AND YOUR LISTING FEE We check every listing before it goes live. If something needs fixing, such as missing or inaccurate information, we send it back to you with a note. You can edit it and resubmit it without paying the listing fee again. You have 30 days to resubmit and we send weekly reminders; after that the listing is withdrawn and the listing fee is not refunded. If we decline your listing, that decision is final and any listing fee you paid is refunded in full to the card or bank account you paid with. 1. LEGAL ENTITY AND PLATFORM ROLE 1.1. Company Information: WattMatch is a trading name of The Electric Transport Shop Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 05469003, with its registered office at 118-120 Newmarket Road, Cambridge, CB5 8HE (the "Company," "the Platform," "we," "us," or "our"). 1.2. Platform Role: WattMatch is a verified peer-to-peer marketplace. We provide the technical infrastructure, including secure payment holding and digital title records, to facilitate the sale of pre-owned electric bikes between independent users ("Sellers" and "Buyers"). 1.3. No Party to Transaction: You acknowledge that the Company is a facilitator only and is not a party to any contract of sale between a Buyer and a Seller. The main trading website, ElectricBikeSales.co.uk, operates under separate retail terms; these Terms apply exclusively to peer-to-peer transactions. 2. PAYMENTS AND PAYOUTS 2.1. Reservation: The buyer's online payment is a Refundable Inspection Reservation. It does not constitute a contract of sale. Payment remains held while the buyer arranges inspection and decides whether to commit. 2.2. Payment Facilitators: All card and bank payments and payouts are handled by third-party Payment Facilitators. By using this service, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of the relevant Payment Facilitator integrated at the time of transaction. 2.3. Release of Funds: Payout follows confirmed handover and the 72-hour payout hold, subject to any claim under WattMatch Buyer Protection. The buyer's claim window is 48 hours from collection. 2.4. Payout Holds: Ordinary sales have a 72-hour payout hold after handover. An open claim pauses payout. This hold does not extend the 48-hour claim window. 2.5. Partial Refunds: If a partial refund is agreed or awarded on a claim, it is deducted from your payout. Our fee is calculated on the original sale price and is not reduced. 3. SELLER OBLIGATIONS AND VERIFICATION 3.1. Mandatory Verification: To maintain the integrity of our verified marketplace, you must complete the "Promise of Ownership", providing valid government-issued photo ID and proof of physical possession. 3.2. Accuracy of Data: You warrant that all listing details—including frame serial numbers, motor mileage, and battery health—are truthful. 3.3. Title and Liens: You warrant that you are the sole legal owner and the bike is free from outstanding finance or hire purchase agreements. 3.4. Legal Liability: Giving false information about ownership, or listing stolen goods, may be a criminal offence under the Fraud Act 2006 and the Theft Act 1968. The Company reserves the right to share all verification data with law enforcement if a bike is later identified as stolen. 3.5. Seller Cancellation: If you cancel the sale yourself before the Buyer commits to buy, the Buyer receives a full refund. Cancellation after an expired final warning, or because the Buyer did not turn up to the arranged inspection, follows its own procedure. Any listing fee you paid is not refunded. 3.6. Listing Review and Listing Fee: The Company reviews every listing before publication. (a) Changes requested: where a listing needs correction or further information, the Company will return it to the Seller with reasons. The listing fee is retained and no further listing fee is payable on resubmission. If the Seller does not resubmit the listing within 30 days of it being returned (by the end of the date shown on the Seller's dashboard), the listing is withdrawn and the listing fee is not refunded. The Company will email the Seller a reminder each week during that period and a final reminder two days before the deadline. A withdrawn listing and its verification data are deleted 14 days after withdrawal. (b) Declined listings: where the Company declines a listing, the decision is final and any listing fee paid for it is refunded in full to the original payment method. Where the fee was paid by bank and the payment has not yet settled, the refund is made once it settles. A declined listing and its verification data are deleted 14 days after the decision, or once any refund has completed if that is later. A record of the payment is kept for the Company's accounts. (c) This clause applies only before a listing is approved; clause 3.5 governs cancellation after that point. 4. HANDOVER 4.1. Inspection: The Buyer inspects the bike in person at handover, including the frame number and mechanical safety. Collection is confirmed through the PIN handover and the sale is final on the Buyer's acceptance. 4.2. Buyer Declines: If the Buyer attended, inspected and declined the bike, confirm this when cancelling the reservation. 5. DISPUTES (THE REFEREE ROLE) 5.1. Buyer Claims: A Buyer who believes they were misled may raise a claim under WattMatch Buyer Protection within 48 hours from collection. An open claim freezes your payout. 5.2. Administrative Ruling: The Company acts as a neutral referee. We will review evidence provided by both parties and reserve the right to make a final administrative decision to release or refund the held funds. 5.3. Dispute Limit: If a resolution cannot be reached within 14 days of a dispute being raised, the Company may refer the parties to independent mediation or legal recourse, while continuing to hold the funds in a "Locked" state. 6. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY 6.1. As-Is Basis: The Company provides the WattMatch platform "as-is". 6.2. What We Do Not Exclude: Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the laws of England and Wales. 6.3. Liability Cap: Subject to clause 6.2, and to the maximum extent permitted by UK law, the total liability of The Electric Transport Shop Ltd for any claim arising from a Marketplace transaction is limited to the total fees paid by the user to the Company for that specific transaction. 6.4. Third-Party Services: The Company is not liable for the acts or omissions of third-party couriers or Payment Facilitators, even where access was provided via the Platform. 7. GOVERNING LAW 7.1. Jurisdiction: These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Users submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
