Published terms version 1.1.1. Selling a bike? Read the Seller Terms.

WattMatch: BUYER TERMS AND CONDITIONS Last Updated: October 2026 YOUR RESERVATION Refundable Inspection Reservation (Subject to £50 fee if cancelled without attending inspection) This reservation does not constitute a contract of sale. Arrange an inspection, check the bike, then commit to buy from your own account. Both parties must confirm before the collection PIN appears. IF YOU CANCEL If you cancel without attending the inspection, £50 is retained, capped at the amount paid. If you do not turn up to the inspection you arranged with the seller, the seller can cancel and the £50 fee applies. If you attend, inspect and decline the bike, you receive a full refund with no fee once the seller confirms you attended. Tip: take a photo of the bike when you inspect it, as proof that you attended. If the seller cancels, you receive a full refund. A bank payment still settling must resolve before cancellation. If 48 hours pass from settled payment without you messaging the seller or opening the commitment step, the seller can send a final 24-hour warning. The bike stays reserved and you can still collect or cancel. If you still do not respond, the seller can cancel and the £50 fee applies. OFFERS Offers are available only when the seller enables them: at most two per buyer per listing, 48 hours for the seller to respond, and no counter-offers. An accepted price lasts 24 hours for you, at the lower of that price and the current asking price. Offers never reserve the bike; an active checkout holds it for about 35 minutes. YOUR PROTECTION Collection sales are final on acceptance. WattMatch Buyer Protection allows claims that you were misled for 48 hours from collection. The seller is not paid while your claim is open. For a bike bought from a private individual, there is no statutory 14-day change-of-mind cooling-off period. This does not remove your rights if the bike was misdescribed or the seller had no right to sell it, or your rights for WattMatch's own services. 1. LEGAL ENTITY AND PLATFORM ROLE 1.1. Company Information: WattMatch is a trading name of The Electric Transport Shop Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 05469003, with its registered office at 118-120 Newmarket Road, Cambridge, CB5 8HE (the "Company," "the Platform," "we," "us," or "our"). 1.2. Platform Role: WattMatch is a verified peer-to-peer marketplace. We provide the technical infrastructure, including secure payment holding and digital title records, to facilitate the sale of pre-owned electric bikes between independent users ("Sellers" and "Buyers"). 1.3. No Party to Transaction: You acknowledge that the Company is a facilitator only and is not a party to any contract of sale between a Buyer and a Seller. The main trading website, ElectricBikeSales.co.uk, operates under separate retail terms; these Terms apply exclusively to peer-to-peer transactions. 2. YOUR PAYMENT 2.1. Reservation: Online payment is a Refundable Inspection Reservation (Subject to £50 fee if cancelled without attending inspection). This reservation does not constitute a contract of sale. Payment remains held while you arrange inspection and decide whether to commit. 2.2. Payment Facilitators: All card and bank payments and refunds are handled by third-party Payment Facilitators. By using this service, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of the relevant Payment Facilitator integrated at the time of transaction. 2.3. Acceptance: Collection sales are final on your acceptance. Claims that you were misled must be raised through WattMatch Buyer Protection within 48 hours from collection. This does not affect statutory rights. 3. SELLER CHECKS THAT PROTECT YOU 3.1. Verification: Every Seller must verify their identity with government-issued photo ID and proof of physical possession, and make a "Promise of Ownership". 3.2. Seller Promises: Sellers promise that the listing details are truthful, that they are the sole legal owner, and that the bike is free from outstanding finance or hire purchase agreements. 3.3. Stolen Bikes: Giving false information about ownership, or listing stolen goods, may be a criminal offence under the Fraud Act 2006 and the Theft Act 1968. The Company may share verification data with law enforcement if a bike is later identified as stolen. 4. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AT INSPECTION 4.1. Inspection: You are responsible for physically inspecting the bike at the point of handover, including checking the frame number and mechanical safety. 4.2. Committing to Buy: You commit after inspecting the bike in person and confirm collection through the PIN handover. The seller remains responsible for accurately describing the bike and having the right to sell it. This does not affect statutory rights. 4.3. Consumer Rights: Private, peer-to-peer sales do not carry the same statutory protections as buying a new bike from the ElectricBikeSales.co.uk retail stores. 5. DISPUTES (THE REFEREE ROLE) 5.1. Declining at Handover: If on inspection the bike is materially not as described, do not commit to buy or share the collection PIN; you may decline the bike. If you attended, inspected and declined, you receive a full refund with no fee once the Seller confirms you attended. 5.2. Claims After Collection: If you believe you were misled about the bike, you may raise a claim under WattMatch Buyer Protection within 48 hours from collection, with a clear video of the problem, 10 to 30 seconds long, uploaded through the claim form. An open claim freezes the seller's payout. 5.3. Administrative Ruling: The Company acts as a neutral referee. We will review evidence provided by both parties and reserve the right to make a final administrative decision to release or refund the held funds. 5.4. Dispute Limit: If a resolution cannot be reached within 14 days of a dispute being raised, the Company may refer the parties to independent mediation or legal recourse, while continuing to hold the funds in a "Locked" state. 6. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY 6.1. As-Is Basis: The Company provides the WattMatch platform "as-is" and makes no warranties regarding the condition or safety of second-hand eBikes. 6.2. What We Do Not Exclude: Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the laws of England and Wales. 6.3. Liability Cap: Subject to clause 6.2, and to the maximum extent permitted by UK law, the total liability of The Electric Transport Shop Ltd for any claim arising from a Marketplace transaction is limited to the total fees paid by the user to the Company for that specific transaction. 6.4. Third-Party Services: The Company is not liable for the acts or omissions of third-party couriers or Payment Facilitators, even where access was provided via the Platform. 7. GOVERNING LAW 7.1. Jurisdiction: These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Users submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
